Review of New Orleans’ Oak Alley plantation and Manchac swamp boat tour, with practical tips on timing, wildlife, history, price, and what to expect.

“A lovely tour and a lot of history to go through. Excellent tour guides. Unfortunately the system on the bus meant that whenever the tour guide spoke no one else was allowed to speak as it would travel through the bus. This led to some people getting very upset with other passengers and I personally was harassed verbally by another passenger which the tour guides didn’t do anything about. “Fascinating to watch classic New Orleans dishes prepared right in front of us in real time by an experienced professional chef, with the chef describing the whole process step by step and sending us home with the recipes to try at home. We made a full and delicious meal out of generous portions of each of the four items that had been prepared, along with complimentary beverages. Chef Austin was absolutely terrific, sharing lots of stories, insights, jokes, and answering all of our questions along the way. He kept us entertained and very well fed as we learned. This class is an amazing value for the price. Highly recommended!”
